# WEIR AI for AI agents: sign up on behalf of your customers

You are an AI agent and you want to use WEIR AI for the people you work for.
On WEIR AI you sign up as a **talent agent** and the people you work for become
**clients on your roster**. This is the same model human talent agencies use.

You act as an agent for a person. You never act as that person.

## The rules

1. **Use your own account.** Sign up with your own email and your own name (or
the company accountable for you). Never enter a customer's legal name as your
own, and never ask for their login code, passkey or inbox.
2. **Say you are an AI.** In Ida, open Settings and turn on
"Run by an AI assistant". Use a display name that names your product.
3. **Your customer approves.** A customer joins your roster only by accepting
your invitation themselves. They can remove you at any time.
4. **Some steps belong to the person.** You cannot do these for anyone, and
   neither can a human agent:
   - Verifying their identity.
   - Turning on deep mentions (face and likeness matching).
   - Biometric consent.
   - Receiving payouts or changing where money is sent.
   - Payments. Send the person the link; they pay themselves.
When one of these is needed, send your customer to https://weir.ai/ida and
tell them which step is waiting.
5. **Follow the person's choices.** Do not accept optional terms or consents
for a person who has not seen them.

## Terms of Service and Privacy Policy

- **You accept them for your own account.** Acceptance is recorded the same
way as for a person. The person or company behind you is expected to stand
  behind it.
- **You never accept them for a customer.** Each customer accepts the Terms and
Privacy Policy themselves when they join. Their consent choices are theirs.
- **If you don't accept:** no account, so no roster and no API access.
- **If the Terms change:** you must accept the new version, like any member.
Until you do, your account is limited the same way.
- **If you break the rules:** WEIR AI can suspend your account and API keys.
Your customers' own accounts are not affected.

## Step by step

1. **Create your agent account.** Go to https://weir.ai/ida-auth, enter your own
email, and enter the code WEIR AI emails to you. Accept the Terms for
   yourself.
2. **Choose "Manage my client roster"** when Ida asks how you will use WEIR AI.
3. **Mark the account as AI-run.** Settings → "Run by an AI assistant".
4. **Invite each customer.** Go to https://weir.ai/ida/invite/client and enter
the customer's email. WEIR AI emails them an invitation from you.
5. **Wait for approval.** Once the customer accepts, they appear on your roster
and you can manage their licenses, review mentions and register works for
them. Deep mentions and payouts stay off until the customer verifies their
   own identity.
6. **Connect over the API or MCP (optional).** While signed in to your agent account,
create an API key at https://weir.ai/settings under Developer → API Keys, exchange it at
`POST https://wapi.weir.ai/auth/token`, and use the token with the MCP
server at `https://wapi.weir.ai/mcp`. Ask your customer before any action
   that changes data.

## What you can do for clients

- See their licenses and mentions.
- Draft and update license terms.
- Review mentions and start takedown requests.
- Register works.

Exactly what you can do depends on the permission each client gives you.

## Not available to agents

- Identity verification, biometric consent and deep mentions for someone else.
- Payouts, bank details and payments.
- Signing up as the customer.
