After years of building AI systems, we’ve witnessed how rapid innovation often outpaces people’s understanding of its risks. As Frank Herbert wisely noted, “What does technology really do? It increases the number of things we can do without thinking. Things we do without thinking—there’s the real danger.” (edited for clarity) This insight resonates deeply with us.
Guided by conversations with leaders like Eric Ries, we established WEIR as a Public Benefit Corporation, and are building technology that prioritizes fairness, safety, privacy, security, and transparency.
